Emerging German label sinnmusik* do their reputation no harm at all here courtesy of a lovely and elegant EP that comes courtesy of Roman Mühlschlegel, a Karlsruhe based producer of considerable promise.
On the Cloudy Business, we're introduced to an eclectic and obviously talented guy, with the only real surprise being the fact that this is our first taste of his music.
''Saturday Night Fever'' for instance, features all the grainy haze and attitude of a vintage Moodymann track, while its playful vocals only add to the fact.
Gentle but most definitely beguiling, it paves the way neatly for my own personal highlight, the stunning ''Keep The Junction'', complete with stunning synth coasts and nimble, intricately laced popping beats.
''Left Behind'' then showcases the more ominous and less friendly side to Mu¨hlschlegel's arsenal. Fully equipped with unrelenting acid flourishes and an introspective vocal line, it offers respite but also is firmly primed for the floor.
Refined, textured and perfectly primed, this atmospheric outing might well cause a stir this coming summer. In all, it's lovely stuff.
